ABB offers high quality and reliable low voltage surge arresters LOVOS intended for protection of low voltage power engineering equipment in AC networks with frequency from 48 to 62 Hz for indoor and outdoor applications.
With nominal discharge current either 5 [kA] or 10 [kA] and continuous operating voltage Uc=280, 440, 500 or 660 [V], the LOVOS surge arresters provide reliable protection from the destructive effects of lightning and switching overvoltages.
ABB's LV Surge Arresters LOVOS can be connected to all kinds of overhead lines, including insulated cables.
LOVOS is a gapless surge arrester with a metal-oxide block encased in a UV resistant polyamide housing. It connects to the power line through a screw on top of the surge arrester. The earthing (bottom) outlet is a single hole flat plate connector.
The housing ensures proper protection of the internal ZnO block against all weather conditions, correct contact force between ZnO block and its outlets and suitable level of insulation.
The surge arresters are available with or without a disconnecting device. ABB offers also many accessories for top (power) and bottom (earthing) terminals.
