  • ABB provides a green solution to Pipavav shipyard

    ABB have provided a leading-edge solution consisting of four 250 kVA PCS100 SFCs (Static Frequency Converters) to the first and only “green shipyard” in India at Pipavav Shipyard Limited (PSL). Whilst providing a “green” solution (by reducing emissions, pollution and noise level), cost saving is also being achieved by using grid power instead of diesel generator (DG) power.

  • High energy efficiency rectifier to power ETI Aluminyum's smelter in Turkey

    In its search for an energy efficient smelter modernization solution, ETI Aluminyum selected ABB to supply electrical equipment for power conversion from 380 kVAC incoming to 450 VDC. Among else, the scope includes four units of very efficient high current diode rectifier systems each with 110 kA at 450 VDC rating.
